About the Texas Advertising Group

Texas Advertising Group Points System

TAG's Resume Book is a collection of resumes from TAG's most active members. TAG membership exceeds 100 each semester, yet there are several individuals who stand out, committing to the organization through active involvement. Every activity and event has a point value attached, and those with the highest number of points make it into the TAG Resume Book, which serves as a reminder and a thank you to those who have helped TAG become the organization that it is.

Students have earned admittance into the Resume Book through the following activities that TAG hosts each semester:

Meetings: TAG hosts guest speakers for each meeting from local and national ad agencies to speak on a variety of topics including account service, account planning, creative, business development, and media.

Socials: Bonding activities for members to get to know their peers as well as mentors in the industry.

Agency Visits: Tours and information sessions with local ad agencies.

Dallas Trip: Two-day visit to agencies in Dallas.

New York Trip: Week-long tour of Manhattan to visit top agencies and get a feel for ad life outside of Austin.

Chicago Trip: Week-long tour of Chicago to visit top agencies and get a feel for ad life outside of Austin.

Houston Advertising Federation Student Competition: Three-day long advertising competition in Houston.

Volunteer Events: Ranges from trash pick-ups with EnviroMedia to Race for the Cure to the Addy Awards.
